I recently read the following on a web page for Gloster, RI. "Pursuant to RI General Law the only Vital Statistics available to the general public are death records over 50 years old and birth and marriage records over 100 years old." Is this true? I expect that I will be wanting to look at birth and marriage records for RI that are not 100 years old. Is it not possible? I am familiar with Massachusetts records where such a limit does not exist. Any advice is appreciated. Jim McCarthy, Somerville, MA
