Carol, I found James Briggs in 1887, 1889, and 1890 listed as a farmer and living at 165 Summer Street in Brockton, but no other listings. I checked the address to see if others were living there and it gave me no hits. Even though this CD says it has directories through 1897, I have not found any of mine byond 1891 so maybe not ALL directories go that far. Sorry I couldn't find more for you. JoAN
