Does anyone have access to the Vital Records from Swansea who would be willing to look up references to Abner ANTHONY who married Sybil CHASE, 25 Jan 1759 [NEHGR, Vol 87, p 129]? I'm interested in whether they may have had a daughter or a granddaughter named Sybil, Sibbel, or Lilebell. I've been searching for the family of Sibbel or Lilebell ANTHONY who married Asa SMITH of Dighton, 4 Sep 1793, [Rehoboth Vital Records, Search & Research CD] and recently received the clue that she may have been the daughter of Abner & Sybil [CHASE] ANTHONY. I've checked the Search & Research Bristol Co. CD, but only a surname index of the Swansea records is included. I could find no mention of Abner ANTHONY in the archives for this mailing list or in the Rootsweb ANTHONY surname message board. There were several occurrences of Anthony & Sybil in the World Connect family trees, but only one, Jim Bullock's, gave any children - two sons Reuben & Asa. The one mention in Vol 87, a genealogy of the CHASE family, is the only reference to Abner ANTHONY in the Register and it does not follow the family to later generations. Any information would be greatly appreciated. Thank you. Jane Devlin Lake Orion, MI [email protected] Records from CT, MA, & MI + family lines: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~jdevlin/
