    1. [MABRISTO] DOMINGO / DOMINGOS in New Bedford

    3. Hello, One of my step-cousins e-mailed me last night asked for help. She would like to know more about her birth-father. He was Richard DOMINGO (sp?) born in Oct. 1930 in MA. He died in 1994 in FL. She thinks her father was born in either New Bedford, MA, or Lowell, MA. I did some on-line investigating this morning and found there were DOMINGO families in New Bedford, but not in Lowell, in 1920. And, I found out that the DOMINGO families in MA were mostly from Portugal or the Azores. I am not able to check the 1930 census, so I can't check for families in New Bedford at that time. And, if Richard was born in Oct. 1930, he might not show up in that census. Richard fathered 3 children that is known about, probably born in the 1960's. They don't know of any earlier marriages. Someone today told me that there are 3 spellings in records: DOMINGO, DOMINGOS, and DOMINGOES. And, I found Richard in the SSDI as Richard DOMINGOS. Is anyone researching these families? Thank you for your time. Betty (near Lowell, MA) We may have arrived on different ships but we're all in the same boat now. :o) (thinking genealogy) (possibly first said by Martin Luther King, Jr.)
