    3. Thank You Carol The information you sent is very helpful. Is there an address for the Osborn Mills? Is the mill building still standing and in use? I live in Colorado now. I have a lot of family to visit when I get back to Little Compton, RI (which isn't often enough) so it doesn't leave much time for genealogy. Thanks again for your help Bob Bob & Nancy Wordell Searchin' for a past Ô¿Ô Surnames: Wordell, Wodell, Taber, Tabor, Hunt, Watters, Fredling, Heinecke, Wells, Ballmer ----- Original Message ----- From: "Carol Houghton" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Tuesday, February 04, 2003 11:40 AM Subject: Re: [MABRISTO] Mills in Fall River > Hi there, > > Here is what I found in the directory for Fall River > > 1889 shows the following: > > Joseph Watters, Superintendent, Osborn Mills, Resid: 72 Middle St > George Watters, overseer, Osborn Mills, Resid: 33 E. 3. "Centennial History of Fall River, Massachusetts" by Henry H. Earl, A.M.published in 1877 might be a help to those researching the mills. I have copied a few pages, but I'm afraid that I was more concerned with the Shove Mills than Osborn mills when I made the copies. The Shoves are related to the Osborns. I have been researching Laura Gross Shove wife of Charles M. Shove of Fall River. Their daughter Eleanor Shove married Richard Osborn(son of James Osborn & Delia Carr) and had 3 sons and 1 daughter. Eleanor later moved to Little Compton. The Shoves, Osborns and related Burchard and Carr families are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River. I have copies of several plot cards if that helps anyone. Getting back to the book, I was able to see it at NE Historical & Genealogical Society in Boston. It might be something you could get through interlibrary loan.
