Thank You Carol The information you sent is very helpful. Is there an address for the Osborn Mills? Is the mill building still standing and in use? I live in Colorado now. I have a lot of family to visit when I get back to Little Compton, RI (which isn't often enough) so it doesn't leave much time for genealogy. "Centennial History of Fall River, Massachusetts" by Henry H. Earl, A.M.published in 1877 might be a help to those researching the mills. I have copied a few pages, but I'm afraid that I was more concerned with the Shove Mills than Osborn mills when I made the copies. The Shoves are related to the Osborns. I have been researching Laura Gross Shove wife of Charles M. Shove of Fall River. Their daughter Eleanor Shove married Richard Osborn(son of James Osborn & Delia Carr) and had 3 sons and 1 daughter. Eleanor later moved to Little Compton. The Shoves, Osborns and related Burchard and Carr families are buried in Oak Grove Cemetery in Fall River. I have copies of several plot cards if that helps anyone. Getting back to the book, I was able to see it at NE Historical & Genealogical Society in Boston. It might be something you could get through interlibrary loan.
