Does anyone out there have any of these Pope names in their family tree or researching them? William Johnston POPE born about 4 Dec 1816 possibly in DePue, Bureau, Il. I think he was an United Brethern minister and had 2 wives Elizabeth ORCUTT and Sara Jane Frances HARRINGTON. They lived in Silver Creek, Cass Co, MI area in the 1850's, then I believe went back to Bureau Co, IL where he is buried in Searle Ridge Cemetery 8 Dec 1890. He had about 10 to 13 children from his 2 wives. I'm related through Justus Leonard POPE who married Elnora Alice LEHR POPE around 1877 in DePue, Bureau, Il. They moved to Waukee, Dallas, IA and were in the 1880 census with their son Forrest J. Pope. Later they had a daughter named Ethyel POPE BECKLEY who died in 1950's in Omaha, NE. Justus & wife were also in the 1900 Fairbault Co, Winnebago, MN census with son Arch Pope. Arch E. POPE married Mary DOLIN and they had 4 children: Arch E. POPE Jr., Caryl TOLIN POPE, Russell Howard Pope (all born Fall River, Bristo, MA), and Jean POPE MARTINEZ HARMON born around 1921 in Denver, CO. Caryl TOLIN POPE married Willett THORTON SULLIVAN POPE they lived in San Mateo, CA area and had Cam POPE, David John POPE and Peter POPE. Forrest E. POPE married Luella HARPER POPE and they had Millard Archie POPE, Forrest J. POPE , Helen M. POPE and Roger H. POPE in St joseph and Platte City, MO. Millard POPE married Virginia BAUMER POPE and their children were Alice Emmalee Pope, Millard Albert Pope Jr and George Roger Pope. They were all born in St Joseph & Platte City, MO area.
