Don't know if this helps, but..... John Lynn, b. 4/5/1884 in St. Alphonse, Canada, married Mary Horan on 6/10/1912 in Fall River. His parents were Henry Lynn and Bridget Kelly. I was tracking the Horans so have information on John [only] and his descendents. Was anyone out there's grandfather a train conductor? Are there are any Bristol County train enthusiasts about there who could answer a few questions about train service in the 1890s? Hi Stefanie - I started to look for this before, but got side tracked. The best place to look is in the city directories. I only have access to 1873 & 1884, and EA isn't in those, but you can try the Fall River Library to see if someone there could look him up around 1881. I did find an E. A. Bush who served at Holy Name Catholic Church in Pennsylvania - Ebensburg, PA. http://www.rootsweb.com/~pacebens/holy_name_church.htm Rev. E. A. Bush served June 26, 1864 to Jan. 6, 1865. I found other "ministers of the gospel" associated with the Baptists. Is "minister of the gospel" handwritten, or is it a printed part of the form? It's possible it is just a generic term to to cover any religious who performed a marriage, as opposed to a marriage performed by a justice of the peace. As I recall, it said Lizzie on the family headstone. I couldn't my hands on the photo I took. I'm sure it'll turn up one of these days. My grandfather Ephriam Bair had sisters one named Elizabeth Ann and one Eliza Jane, I had them confused for a while until I found them on the same census. ----- Original Message ----- From: "William Fitzgerald" <wmfitzgerald@comcast.net> To: <MABRISTO-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Tuesday, May 23, 2006 1:27 PM Subject: Re: [MABRISTO] O'Briens of Fall River > As I recall, it said Lizzie on the family headstone. Minister of the Gospel is, I believe, a bureaucratic category set up by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts, or the US Census, designed under the goal: Check one box. It is not a denomination, nor does it imply anything about the validity/education/seriousness of the person. Hope someone can help me. I am looking for information on John Burke and his wife Abby (Perry) Burke. I believe that he died sometime between 1870 and 1880. At one time he was the gardner for John Avery Parker the millionaire who lived in New Bedford. I believe that John was born in Ireland but do not know the year nor the year that he died. Can anyone help? I am looking for marriage and death dates for John and Abby (Perry) Burke. Their daughter Elizabeth Farrington Burke is my ggggrandmother. Thank you for any information that anyone has about these people.
