Hi all, I'm looking for two families on the 1930 U.S. Census. So if there's a kind soul out there with a spare moment, might you tell me if you can find: 1. CASTELLUCCIO, Anthony (b c1911) & Donna Maria or Mary (b c1913), in Newark, NJ; and 2. MACIOCI, head of household unknown, in Essex County, NJ; at least two children named Ann and Armando. Many thanks in advance for any info.
I could not find either of these families in the 1930 census for Essex Co., NJ. A search for the surname Castelluccio in Essex County resulted in 12 hits, but none were named Anthony or Donna Maria or Mary and none were born in 1911 There were two heads of households - Joseph (wife Vincencia) b. 1889 in Italy and Alfred (wife Emma) b. 1895, also in Italy. Neither of these families had the young people you are seeking. A search for the surname Macoici in Essex County, NJ resulted in no hits at all. Maybe they were in a different place when the census was taken or maybe the enumerator used an alternate spelling. ??? Good luck. ----- Original Message ---- From: Joan S. <JSflwr@bestweb.net> To: mabristo@rootsweb.com Sent: Thursday, January 11, 2007 9:28:44 PM Subject: [MABRISTO] SKS -- 1930 Census Lookup? Many thanks for this information. Yes, I do have Ancestry but only the UK version. However, visiting my local Mormon library I was able to avail myself of the full version and trace relatives on Ship's Manifests, Census records etc. I have written to several HALLs in New Bedford and am awaiting replies. My great Uncle Frank Hall born 1873 Oldham Lancs and his wife Ada Jackson travelled to New Bedford in May 1909 aboard the Cunard Ship Saxonia. Listed on the manifest were them were their children Emily 12, Florence 9, Frank 6, William 4 and Charles 2. They lived at 67 Rathaine New Bedford and initially Frank worked as a waiter on a Lunch Wagon and Ada resumed her work as a Speed Tenter in a mill. Two more children were born, Fred about 1913 and John B Hall in 1914. The family obtained naturalization in 1916. By 1920 the Hall family are living on Clara Street New Bedford, Frank is in the Cotton Mill. By 1930 the family have moved to Summit Street and Frank Hall is a Construction Labourer. William is a Painter in the mill, Fred a Clerk at a store and Fred a Grinder Shuttle Worker. Emily worked as a Speed Tenter and married Frederick Sagar a Turner in the mill. They had two children. Florence and Frederick. Ada's sister Martha b 1871 married firstly a James Heyes who immigrated into the USA in 1904. She and Ethel their daughter joined him later. Ethel Heyes born 1893 in Oldham, took employment as a Book Keeper and later married Albert Livesey a Joiner in a Cotton Mill. The 1910 Federal Census records Martha living with her second husband Frederick, and daughter Ethel in New Bedford. The 1920 census records Frederick as a widower, owner of a liquor store on Butler Street. Living with him are John Brierley Jackson,a Grocer, ( brother of Ada and Martha.) John's wife Mary Ann is a Saleswoman. John had arrived in Boston in 1906 on the SS Ivernia to stay with a friend Thomas Pickles. I know that visits were made by relatives living in Oldham Lancashire in 1928 but would like to know what happened to the Hall and Jackson families. Donna, Thank you for the information. I have new information to ponder now (after Christmas of course). Unfortunately, I don't believe the death certificate you found is my W. Bottomley. This is a very good question. I was pretty sure but I'll need to research further to confirm. I have my William Bottomley's civil war records that states that he was married before Julia and I was pretty sure it was Ann. I'll do more research. Thanks for the food for thought! Hi Sue, Thank you for the birth of Emma Jane. William was a Civil War Soldier but I did not think that he had signed up until 1861. I do have a Ancestry subscription but have not been able to identify either William or Elizabeth, will keep on trying. Is there a listing on Ancestry for soldiers in the Civil War. Would you be so kind as to check for a marriage of Edwin Whitaker/Whittaker to Mary Ingham in Sept 1872 for any additional details in Fall River. Just pointing out that you should check Tiverton RI, as about half of Fall River MA was Fall River RI back then. The 1860 census was my clue--I found my Hibbert family who was supposed to be in Fall River to actually be in Rhode Island census in Fall River, Newport County RI. I always wondered how my gr-gr-grandfather showed up in a RI regiment, when he was supposed to have emigrated to Fall River. That solved the mystery. -----Original Message----- From: mabristo-bounces@rootsweb.com [mailto:mabristo-bounces@rootsweb.com] On Behalf Of theclown16@optonline.net Sent: Thursday, December 21, 2006 10:48 AM To: mabristo@rootsweb.com Subject: Re: [MABRISTO] May/Whittaker Six Elizabeth May marriages in index.
