Hi Florence: Thank you for the births. That poor woman must have lost four babies if only two of the 6 survived according to the 1910 census. I knew of 7 children but now it seems there were at least 10. No wonder she died early. Hi Elaine: Thanks for the suggestion. I did try that but two people found them on the 1910 in Fall River. All the names were misspelled so it is no wonder that I missed them. I thought I had tried all combinations of spellings but missed them anyway. I do appreciate all the help. Elenore At 10:55 AM 6/24/2007, you wrote: >Have you tried the 1911 Canadian census records? Hi Florence: Many thanks for that look up. I had about given up trying to find them on that census but I can see with all the variations in the names for each one of them, it is no wonder I missed it. At least now I know that Mathilda was also born in Quebec. Elenore At 10:57 AM 6/24/2007, you wrote: >At 01:34 PM 6/24/2007, you wrote: > >there to find a bride. Hi Barbara: Many thanks for that information. I am sure that is the right family and it gives me lots of clues. I thought I had tried all the possible spellings but some how missed that one. Have you tried the 1911 Canadian census records? They are online. Just google for them. Elaine
Hi Sue: Thanks for the heads up on my query. I know that Arthur was born in Quebec and there is always a possibility that he might have gone back there to find a bride. I have been searching for the family on the 1910 census for Fall River as that is where all the children were baptized, including two that were born after that census. I had hoped that it would tell me where Mathilda was born but have had no luck there either. I have the marriages of all the brothers of Arthur and they were in Fall River. He would have to be the exception, wouldn't he???? Would there be any record of a death for Mathilda about 1915. We know that the youngest child, Blanche was about 3 when her mother died. Hi Jim: Thanks for the look up. I am still wondering if by any chance Arthur may have gone back to Quebec where he was born to find a bride. I have been unable to find the family on the 1910 census where they should have been living in Fall River since all the children were baptized there including two after 1910, one in 1911 and the last in 1912. Elenore and Jim, The NEHGS and Massachusetts Archives on-line indexes are missing the 1886-1890 marriages for surnames starting somewhere near the surname Moulton and ending around Savery, which would include the surnames you are looking for. I have the FHL microfilm of this index volume at my local FHC. Next time I'm up there, I'll check to see if the marriage is in this time frame.
