    1. [MABRISTO] NARA at Waltham - How busy is it this week during a week day?
    2. Hello, It's early Friday AM. I am thinking about going to Waltham (NARA) tomorrow. Has anyone been there this week -- on a weekday -- after the release of the 1930 Census? If I went today (Friday), how busy might it be? Thanks! Betty G. Middleboro

    2. Hi Audra, Greenwood Park is a section of Westport half way between Fall River and the Dartmouth line. It sits along Route 6 about 2 miles from the old Lincoln Park Amusement Park. It was never a part of Fall River. Paula

    3. Hi, There was a Greenwood Park school in Westport,MA. in the 1940's, when I taught music education in the Westport schools. It was just off Rt 6, fairly near the Fall River/Westport line. I've been away from there for over 50 years, but I'll bet that the name still exists for that section of the town. I have very fond memories of Westport. 1. [MABRISTO] Job Winslow's wife
    2. Hi - I, too, am a descendant of Job Winslow (1641-1720), and like others who have written to this list, would like very much to know the identity of his wife and the mother of his children. My notes say: His wife was not Ruth Cole, daughter of Daniel & Ruth (Chester) Cole; Daniel's daughter's marriage to John Young is proved by Daniel's estate settlement. Nor was she daughter of Giles & Catherine (Whelden) Hopkins; data for her marriage to Samuel Mayo can be found on page 273 of GENEALOGY OF MAYFLOWER FAMILIES FROM THE REGISTER. GREAT MIGRATIONS reiterates the above; Torrey's MARRIAGES PRIOR TO 1700 lists both surnames as unproven and questionable. Does anyone have a proven identity for Ruth? Isabel

The only tricky thing is after you use the catalog and find your entry, be sure to click the little button called "Film notes" so you can get the film numbers. You can order them from Salt Lake through a Family History Library or other library with borrowing privileges. Also, you can check which FHL libraries have them in their permanent collections. Alice

    1. [MABRISTO] New Bedford Library: Death Records
    2. Hello, Thank you, everyone, who gave me info re: Fall River Deaths. I went back to the New Bedford Library, and noted for others: Mass Death Index (whole state) - Fiche - 1841 - 1895 Mass Death Index (whole state) - Rolls - 1896 - 1971. Actual Records: (whole state) Up to 1900. Thus, I was able to check the death records up to 1900. I still have to find the (Fall River) Death Records for 1905, 1905, 1909, 1912, 1915, 1921, 1925 & 1927. Will the MA Archives have the actual records for those above years (1905 - 1927), or just 1910? Perhaps the LDS catalogue would be a possible idea. Does anyone know how I could find that out? Isn't the catalogue on line? (I use the LDS database, but not the catalogue). Thanks. 2. In a message dated 4/8/02 9:25:52 PM Eastern Daylight Time, [email protected] writes: > Would you tell me what you have for the ancestors of John Winslow? > Would he be a descendent of Jonathan Winslow and Sarah Kirby? Bingo, Linda. He was a grandson. However, John Winslow's line runs through his mother Patience (Paine) Winslow. Through his paternal grandmother, Sarah (Kirby) Winslow, he is a 4th cousin twice removed of Lizzie Andrew Borden (via Gifford). This is a basic ancestor table (subjct to your verification). Additions and corrections are welcomed. 1. John Winslow 2. Jonathan Winslow 3. Patience Paine 4. Jonathan Winslow 5. Sarah Kirby 6. Thomas Paine 7. Susanna Haskell 8. Job Winslow 9. Ruth ---- (Cole?) 10. John Kirby 11. Rebecca Mosher 12. Ralph Paine 13. Dorothy ----- 14. John Haskell 15. Patience Soule 16. Kenelm Winslow---brother of Governor Edward Winslow 17. Ellen Newton 18-19. ---------- 20. Richard Kirby---son of Richard Kirby and Jane ----- 21. Patience Gifford---daughter of William Gifford and ----- 22. Hugh Mosher 23. Rebecca Maxson 24-27. ---------- 28. Roger Haskell 29. Elizabeth Hardy 30. George Soule (Mayflower passenger) 31. Mary Beckett? Best of luck in your research.
