Hi Craig :)) Thanks for the dates! I think I've found him! There were 5 others born between 1797 - 1807 living in the New England Area, but I feel this is the one you are looking for, as it was the only John B. Warren born in England. I took this information from the 1880 Census and did a search in the 1870 Index. I found him living in Portland Maine in the 1870 Census with a wife Elizabeth from Ireland! Hi Craig: I have access to the 1880 Index, and would be happy to do a look up for you. There are 124 John Warren's in Massachusetts in the 1880 Census. Do you have an approximate date of birth? Many thanks to Deb Gilligan for her help, unfortunately John Deane TINKER is still missing but she has given me information on a John W TINKER & family. Anita. New Zealand.
If the 1880 USA census is indexed would SKS please look for a John Deane TINKER born about 1850 in England, either Derbyshire or Lancashire. I think this is the second husband of my gt.grandmother Ann & I have always thought they met when she returned to England in the late 1870s but there is no trace of him on the UK 1881 census although there is a death in 1885 in Chapel-en-Le-Frith, Derbyshire UK. My gt.grandmother was living in Fall River, MA when Mary Emma my grandmother was born in 1875 & I would think that John TINKER & my gt.grandmother Ann SNAPE would have met there. TIA, Anita. New Zealand.

George: Concerning Woodlawn Cemetery, Attleboro: There is a map of the lots of the cemetery pre-1928. Burial Lots have a surname and some include the given name (or initial(s)) of the buried. A copy (at 11 pages (at 8.5" x 11") of the larger "Map of Lots as of June 1st, 1928" ) is in the Attleboro Public Library. It is not indexed, but place of burials in Woodlawn Cemetery before 1928 might be found looking at those pages. P. Cobb -----Original Message----- From: [email protected] [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Tuesday, June 11, 2002 7:12 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [MABRISTO] Woodlawn Cem. Greetings, A few questions: Does anyone know of a list of who is buried (and where) in Woodlawn Cemetery in Attleboro? What was the historical status of Pawtucket being part of MA and then becoming part of RI? Example: people are enumerated on the 1855 MA census, then on the 1860 RI census. Where would I search for records of a criminal trial circa 1850 probably in Pawtucket? The person was incarcerated in RI (1850 census) but the RI Judicial Records Center has no record of a trial. Could the trial have happened in the MA jurisdiction of Pawtucket and the imprisonment been served in RI? Thanks, George

Hi Everyone; I've finally made progress on the transcribing of the 1855 State Census for the Town of Easton, Bristol County, Massachusetts. I've transcribed 20 pages out of 41 pages. I hope to get the others online within the next week or so. You can view the census online at: http://www.tourtillott.org/easton/index.html If you would like to use our Search Engine, go to our home page at: http://www.tourtillott.org and scroll down to the search engine on the left hand side. Remember when searching, you can use partial names: Like Joh will return results for John, Johnson, etc. You can also go thru the transcription one page at a time. Hope these pages help other researchers in Bristol County! Regards Barbara Tourtillott [email protected] [email protected]

Carol, I have only found my James Butler in 1900 census, living with wife & M-I-L. There I found his natinality (origin of birth) & that he was NOT a citizen. I did not find any of them in 1910 or 1920 census. I am not sure why, but perhaps as I already knew DOD on James' wife (Susan Estabrook Crowell), who was my paternal grandmother's mother & that James is my Gram's step father and so did not look so hard. I was just more curious as to when & how he got to US, than I was in where he ended up.... I guess what it comes down to is that I need to get to census office again for next few counts to try & track him - then work backwards Thanks for your help. Jeannine, Have you examined the 1900 census to see if the person was here in the US then, or more important, looked for naturalization papers?? The 1910, 1920 census will give you immigration information also. Year of immigration is crucial to further research. I can help you with naturalization papers if you find more info, let me know. Hi there- For MARSDEN, I have the following: George, ED151, sheet 9b John, ED153, sheet 12b (I have a note under ED153 that the writing is faded) Lawrence, ED152, sheet 12b There were not many. I suspect that my husband's Howard grandmother was somehow related to MARSDENs in Preston, Lancashire, England.
