I recently returned from about 3 weeks in Ireland. While in Dublin I was looking at some paintings and stopped to look at a coastal scene with some fishing boats. The artist was there and he told me it was done at Bulloch Point about 6 miles from Dublin. He didn't have any idea of the origin of the name. If any of you think your Bullochs may have come from Ireland, you may want to check it out. The "Bulloch" spelling is usually found in Scotland & Ireland, and my Bullocks are from England, so I didn't look into it any further. Jim Bullock Littleton, CO
Does anyone know where I might find records from there for the years the year 1850's-70's--Thanks, Jenny
Could someone please tell me if these Lodges are still active? My gt.grandfather was a member of the Fall River Chapter of Sons of St George at his death in 1911 & I am hoping that if it still exists they wil have a photo in the archives of my Frank Snape. His obit states that his bearers were from Bonnie Red Rose Lodge & Sons of St. George. I am of course also interested in the Bonnie Red Rose Lodge. Any help will be appreciated. Anita. New Zealand.
Is anyone aware of Griffin School in New Bedford ca 1870? Any info appreciated. Ellie

I would like to welcome those of you new to this site and tell you there are some really great folks who are willing to help just for the asking. I, myself do Volunteer research at Andersonville Civil War Prison in Andersonville Georgia. There are Any research I do is absolutely at NO cost and I am willing to do what I can. There are 2426 prisoners of war on record from the state of Massachusetts and more than 800 who died here, I thought I would send my offer. Here are my sources of research. There are 2 online databases to do lookups.....One by name...one by Company and Regiment. I also have a copy of the Dorence Atwater Death list which has the names and grave numbers of 12960 graves with only 460 marked as " UNKNOWN " This along with a CD I have which contains 34,000 names of the 45,000 who were imprisoned there which helps me find prisoner records because of misspellings of the names or alternate names. I visit the prison site every couple of weeks and have access to the onsite databases as well as the physical files. I would like to let you know of another service I offer which is to take photos of graves for a small fee. Please do not consider this spam as my research offer is FREE for the asking and will be posted on this county site only once. If there is anything I can do in helping your research at Andersonville, please just ask.
