Hi Roy, Not sure if this will help or not. I know there is an Edward McNamara living in Stoughton near the North Easton/Stoughton line. I live in North Easton and have for my entire life. In fact, my gram lives with me and she is the oldest resident of North Easton. She will be 104 in January. Good luck with your search. The post office did make some changes couple decades back..... especially house numbers. If you can find old street listings for the town you are searching, you may be able to find whom you seek. The time frame I am referring to in my posting of "Massachusetts Thne, Rhode Island now"........is mainly at the time of 1746/7. Cynthia administrator for: [email protected] Need lookup? Hello listers, Does anyone live near this cemetery? If soemone does, I wonder if it might be possible to get a digital photo of the following gravestone(s). George A. Mitchell is located in section GR 3 (I believe this is the section of the cemetery). Rosetta Mitchell (George's wife) also located in GR 3. Thanks, Mary Jo
When doing my COLE research [ Hugh2 Cole of Swanzey,Mass Bay Colony, now Warren, RI ]..... I got confused at first until I found the information on the boundary changes and names of towns up to 1746/7 and after 1746/7. ----- Original Message ----- From: <[email protected]> > Cynthia, Thank you so much for posting that information. I am wondering if anyone has a John Garvey who died in 1880 buried with their kinfolk and maybe unable to identify. My John died in Fall RIver in June of 1880 as an infant. i believe he was also born in June 1880. He isn't buried with the rest of his family and thought maybe he was buried with some other family member before his family bought their plot in St. Patrick's cemetery. Thanks Pat

I am researching the MCNAMARA families of North Easton. My great grandmother (Mary Ann McNamara Boylan) was born in Stoughton in 1854. She had brothers William and James. When she reached age 100 in 1955, a newspaper account mentions "close relatives" named Edward McNamara and Andrew McNamara, both from North Easton. I assume these were nephews or great nephews. I would be interested in hearing from anyone with information or an interest in this family. Roy Boylan

I have finally knocked at least one brick out of a wall that has blocked me for years. I have just learned that in 1914 John and Ida (Gustavsson) Johnson were living at 79 Canonicus Street in North Tiverton (Newport), RI. This is about 3 blocks south of the state line as it borders on Fall River. The record that i located was fore the birth of Clara Johnson in 1913, she was the couples fourth child. Since learning that I have scanned the entire non-indexed 1910 Census for Tiverton but did not encounter the family. If anyone has access to Fall River City Directories for 1910 through 1913, or slightly earlier, and could attempt to locate a John Johnson I would appreciate it. In 1913 John was employed as a Machine Folder, I expect his occupation would have been in mills earlier as well. I am also interested in listing for Frank Fantom for the same period. Thanks for any help that you might send my way. Dick O'Donnell Melbourne, Florida, USA Hosting Multiple Web Sites Visit My Home Base at: http://www.mindspring.com/~dickod/index.htm

Hi again : Someone just contacted me in regards to : My earlier posting in regards to Massachusetts Vital Records This was passed onto me . Many of you may already know about this but for those who do not: A severe threat to access of Massachusetts vital records. The recently introduced Massachusetts House of Representatives bill H5158 (would close marriage and death records since 1950, as well as birth records after 1910, to public access — including their indices! This bill has not had a public hearing and there is a significant danger of this bill passing without the opportunity for a public hearing. >>>>>>>>>>> REPLY From Bill Gillis of MAESSEX LIST : Someone contacted a member of the General Court who said that the bill died in committee. Much to my relief!! and to yours too I am sure .! Sorry to cause a panic , this was new news to me . It is certainly hard enough tracking down our more elder ancestors without the blocking of finding our more recent ones to get us there! Best Wishes to All, Andrea
Surnames: AIROSO/AIROZO AZERA BERTAO COELHO MARTIN/MARTINS VIEIRA I have a few old family photos that I am trying to identify, possibly the maiden name of the women in the photos is Azera or Martin/Martins. The were probably taken in the early 1900s, but not sure. What might help to find out the time period is the name of the photo studio in the corner of the photos. One says: Olneyville Studio 1913 Westminster St. Providence, RI the other says: V. Velzis Studio 1913 Westminster St. Providence, RI I believe the one taken at the studio when it was called Olneyville Studio was taken first. Would like to hear from anyone who may be able to place a year on when these studios existed or may have Portuguese Martin/Martins or Azera family who may have taken photos at these studios. I believe they may have lived in Massachusetts; possibly New Bedford or Taunton. Thanks, Deanne Vieira Baker

Thanks for the info. This will be really bad for us genealogists. I hope the Massachusetts people will write to their congressmen, as we out-of-staters who will be affected greatly if this comes into law, have no clout with the Mass. legislature.
