    3. Hi again, In my other posting this morning the Blackhawk War was mentioned. I just looked it up and it was a war with "Black Hawk," a war Chief in the area of the then "Michigan Territory" and "Indiana Territory." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Black_Hawk_War http://lincoln.lib.niu.edu/blackhawk/ And, the article mentioned that many people headed out in that direction after the War of 1812: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/War_of_1812 Black Hawk's War was in 1832. See above article. I don't know if I can find a definition of the term, Captain of the Volunteers" on-line. But, it seems to be a term in many countries. Just an FYI for you.
