It tells of Joseph Elliott, North Egremont postmaster and shopkeeper, who had spent the previous eight weeks combing the site of Beckwith's camp for hidden gold and found several human bones that had been cut with a sharp instrument. At the time of writing they were confirmed as human, and male, but had not yet been tested to determine how long they had been there.
