My maiden name is Bonney and i grew up near Pittsfield. The Pittsfield Library has excellent references as well as the Conte Archives in Lenox. I have a Phoebe in my research - but different spelling than the one you have. I would have to look through my information to see if the name David Thompson is there. My ancestors were from Hardwick Mass and that is around 1850 or so.
