Thank you very much for your response below. The BONNEY name is also spelled BONNY, sometimes even BONY. I have seen an EDSON BONNEY listed from time to time, from Pittsfield. In fact, there seem to be a father and son EDSON that I've seen from there. I would very much appreciate anything more you can tell me about this name. The Pittsfield Library has excellent references as well as the Conte Archives in Lenox. I have a Phoebe in my research - but different spelling than the one you have. I would have to look through my information to see if the name David Thompson is there. My ancestors were from Hardwick Mass and that is around 1850 or so. Ron, my fathers grandfather moved from Hardwick Mass - William Bonney, to Williamstown Ma. My fathers father moved from Williamstown to Dalton where the family settled from then on. My fathers grandfather, sisters and brothers from Hardwick I have not traced yet. I do know that one aunt moved from Hardwick mass, married and died in Ware ma. I have seen the other spellings of the name Bonney, but our line seems to be just Bonney. There was no research on the name until i started it quite a few years ago. I do not continualy work on it, but do have my own pages. I would be happy to mail you what i have done to this point on my line. Check in Hardwick Mass for records of 1850 also, it is from there that I have to start working on the branch of other family members.
