I had not tried to look using the BOLLAND derivation. This is a big help and I bet that it's her. I see other familiar names from that boarding house list that were connected to the family in LaSalle Co. such as John McCabe and Patrick Manion. Bridget's hsb. Dennis was a brother to Patrick B. Manning (Name spelled Mannion in Ireland) and worked for John McCabe. Dennis and John were blacksmiths after moving to LaSalle Co. and Patrick was a wagon maker. Dennis went to the Civil War in place of John. John's son Joseph married Dennis and Bridget's daughter. I really appreciate all you have done! It's certainly a small world when you get doing genealogy and you find how many people have similar connections in counties such as LaSalle. It was quite a hub due to the railroads and canals and coal mines and zinc plants. Being on the Illinois river made the access from Chicago easy. There was alot of ethnic division and the town, though small, had numerous catholic churches for each ethnic group. Thank you again!!! What is the likelihood that there would be obituaries available for David and Mary Boland Heaton? I know in larger urban areas it's poor. Do you know what newspapers I should order microfilm from? Have a great week! Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
