They came to the US about 1848 with what I believe were at least 4 kids. 1) Mary born 1831 married David Heaton lived in Pittsfield kids: Jos., David, John, and Annie J. 2) Bridget born 1836 moved to Peru, LaSalle Co., IL and married Dennis Manning in 1867, died in 1909. Kids: Mary Agnes (Mamie) Ellen/Nellie, John, Anna Virginia. 3) Patrick b 1829 married Mary, had some children in Illinois in early 1860s and moved to Fairfax, Linn Co., Iowa near Cedar Rapids by 1870. Kids: Peter, Thomas, Nellie, Frank, Joseph, Michael, Annie born between 1860-1878. 4) Michael born 1837 married Mary and lived in LaSalle Co., Illinois, Linn Co., Iowa, and in 1877 moved to Ivesdale, Champaign Co., IL where he died in 1888. kids: Margaret Emma, John, Elizabeth, Peter, James, Mary, William, Nellie, Walter, more or less I imagine all of these 4 kids spent some time in Pittsfield prior to 1867. Their birthdates vary with the census over a range of years from 1825-1840. I am working on proving a connection of these 4 kids to Thomas and Ann Boland. Family lore says that Mary Heaton was a sister to Bridget Boland Manning but my photograph collection also has photos of Patrick and Michael. My grandma who was not related to them wrote that they were cousins of Grandma Manning on them, but I am sure they are brothers to Bridget Boland Manning and to Mary Boland Heaton and that they may have lived briefly in the Pittsfield area from 1848 through 1860. If you find anything else on Bolands from Pittsfield, I would be glad to get it! No matter what, you have helped me so much now that I have lots and lots of leads to follow. THANK YOU SO VERY MUCH!!!
