    3. I'm going to go into more detail than is necessary in this reply. I'm doing this because this is a source for vital records of towns that have not been published. If you want to order from them, I think you should be fully informed. There are microfilm & microfiche sources for some towns. Probably the most extensive are those at ArchivePublishing.com also called the Holbrook Institute. I do not know the quality of their work. I know from their website that the price is $5.00 per fiche and that they only sell town records as a complete set. The Lenox records, http://www.archivepublishing.com/biblio_ma_l/biblio_lenox.htm#originals, are on 30 fiche and the cost is $150. Most of the records appear to be births, marriages and deaths. However, unless I'm doing a complete historical study of a town, I don't really think I need such things as registered dogs and earmarks and strays. I don't know if their policy has changed, but some time back one of the projects transcribers was going to order from them. This was before they had the policy of selling only a complete set. They would not fulfill her order until they had other orders so that they could make a minimum processing run. Lots of companies do this to save cost. However, this might take months before you got your order, if ever. Also, they kept asking her to buy other fiche that she did not want. These fiche are an invaluable resource, but the policy of the Holbrook Institute makes this a solution that is not one for the average genealogist.
