    3. The answer is slightly complex. Approximately 300 towns had their vital records published. The dates were from the earliest times to approximately 1850. The four western counties, Berkshire, Franklin, Hampden and Hampshire, unfortunately, had many towns that were not published. There were a couple projects, such as the Corbin files, that did some them. But, they are not in an easily searched format. Your best bet is to start with the Massachusetts Vital Records Project and see what is there. It is completely free. If you don't find exactly what you want, you can request a quick lookup by the administrators. After that, lookups on NEHGS or from people who may have access to other records.
