I drove to the New England Historical Genealogical Society on Tuesday in the hope of finding more information on the death of my grandfather. The index only shows that he died in 1953 in North Adams. Searching ancestry.com's newspaper archive I found a picture of him receiving his pension check on August 27, 1953, but no death announcement for that year (or any other). The North Adams Transcript has been a great source in the past, but for some reason I cannot find the obituary. Any thoughts?
Hi, Tom... I responded to your request once before but didn't hear back from you. If your grandfather was Richard Emery, please get in touch with me offline. I'm sure I can help as I grew up with that family.
