My ggg grandfather Joseph Pike, abt 1759/60 to 1828 enlisted in the Revolutionary War from Hardwick, Worcester, MA at about age 15. After searching for a number of years, I still can not determine his parents. One wonders where a 15 year old young man living in Hardwick, MA came from. There were other Pikes in Hardwick, MA at the same time, but I cannot make connections. One was a Timothy PIKE who eventually returned to the Charlestown, MA area after the War. The father of the other family was Elisha PIKE with sons Samuel and Elisha, but Elisha supposedly died in 1749 and my Joseph was born abt 1759/60. However, my Joseph named sons Joseph Elisha and Samuel. Another interesting fact ...there was a Samuel Pike living in Williamstown, MA abt 1805 who was a member of the same Congregational Church and who may have been living with the Joseph Pike family in the1800 or 1810 census. How was he related to Joseph. This Joseph PIKE married Rebecca HAWKINS, d. of Robert HAWKINS and Rachel BUCK of Williamstown, MA about 1790. About 1813 members of his family removed to Colesville, Broome Co., NY. I am hoping to find someone who has information on any of the Hardwick, MA Pike families and am willing to share information I have gathered to date. Margaret Scheffler
