    1. Stockbridge Bell or times tower
    2. Hello all, Can anyone help me on any information on a bell tower in stockbridge MA. I am researching the Dodge Construction Company that was est. 1865 in Pittsfield. I have read that they build this tower and am interested in getting the year it was build and its location. Any Information on this Construction Company is more than welcome. Thank you all and I am looking forward to your response. Steve Dodge, Linden, NJ

    3. Steve, According to the "Stockbridge Story" published in 1989, the Children's Chime Tower "was given by David Dudley Field, Jr. of New York and Stockbridge in 1878 as a memorial to 'my children and grandchildren, living and dead.'"..."The tower, designed by G.E. Harney of New York, consists of forty-five feet of bluestone masonry, sixteen feet square at the base, laid by Hascall Dodge of Pittsfield, and a wooden structure more than sixty-nine feet tall." There is more in the book about the bells, their ringing, etc. (The tower was renovated in 1973 by the Phillip Formel Co. of Lenox, Ma.)
