I'm new to this list and I haven't seen any activity since I joined. I hope someone is out there. Does anyone have any information about a school in Pittsfield called Chickering's Commercial College? I believe it was in existence, at least in the 1880's or 1890's. Does it still exists, perhaps under a new name? If not, would anyone know where the old records may be? I believe my gggrandfather, George J. Amidon, was a professor of penmanship at this school during the late 1800's. Any help will be appreciated. Barbara Shannon
