Hi I'M new to this list . I think My ggrandfather and Mother lived in Pittsfield in 1860 thought some of the following info might be familiar to another Feeley. My name is William J. Feeley. I am originally from Albany, NY but for the past 25 years have been living in Mi.. I am currently doing a genealogy of "my " Feeley family. The following is information that I have: I was born in Albany, NY. My parents were Leo Thomas Feeley born 07/28/1911 ,Albany,NYdied 03/16/1999 Daytona Fla.; Catherine Clark Feeley born 02/24/1913 Albany NY died 07/23/1981, Harvey, Ill. They had other children: Leo, Marilyn Feeley McGarry & Edward. Leo Thomas Feeley's parents were: William J. Feeley born 09/06/1869 Albany NY died 07/15/1918 Albany NY; Mary Elizabeth McEvoy Feeley born 1874 Albany NY died 12/06/1959 Albany NY. They also had other children: Marguerite Feeley Soraghan born 10/26/1905, Paul born 1907, Anna Feeley Stauch , Helen Feeley Purdy, Julia Feeley Hughes . William J. Feeley's parents were: John B. Feeley born approx. 1840. died 11/14/1883 Albany NY; Julia Kelly Feeley born Quebec Canada. The 1860 census index shows a John & Julia In Pittsfield, Ma. Berkshire Co.>I'm not sure if this is mine but it would fit . They had other children: John , Mary Agnes Feeley Laffan born approx. 1874 died 02/09/1910 , Rochester NY , Maim Feeley Dormady, Anna E. Feeley born approx. 1876 died 12/19/1891, Coeymans Junction NY. John B. Feeley's parents were William Feeley and Mary ? Feeley possibly from County Sligo Ireland. They had other children but who unknown. Family history has it that the Feeleys came to the US Via Canada. This may be supported by Julia Kelly being from Quebec. Who came to the US I do not know other the John B. Feeley. Family history also says that some of the Feeleys lived in Brooklyn NY possibly on Carroll St.. and attended St.. Paul's Rc Church. The 1890 Brooklyn city directory showed Edward Feeley, a plumber, at 83 Carroll St.. This is .5 miles from St. Paul's on Congress St.. This may be supported by Paul Feeley SR saying that prior to he's fathers,William J Feeley, death in 1918 William went to NY to stay with relatives and "get the sea air". The Carroll address is not to far from the river/Atlantic ocean.
