Hello, I am new to this list and I am looking for information on my ggggrandfather John Ellis HOWARD, born abt. 1767 in Rhode Island, parents unknown. John married Lydia KING, born abt. 1769 in Rhode Island, parents unknown. John and Lydia moved to Berkshire, Co. Mass. and settled there until 1804. Around 1804 John and Lydia moved to Chautauqua Co. N.Y. where he became quite a business man. They built log houses and settled around Silver Creek. John eventually had the spirit of discovery and adventure and wandered westward into Michigan. 1831 finds John, Lydia and their seven children settled and well established in Portage, Kalamazoo Co. MI. I do have information and documents on my ancestors living in NY and MI. but not in Mass. or Rhode Island. I will be willing to share my information with anyone who may have a link to my Howard and King lineage. Thanking you in advance. Gloria
