She was the dau. of Matthias Ellis, Jr. and Rachel Tupper Ellis. This family is mentioned in Vol 21, page 40 of the NEHGR, in an article written by Ludia B. Brownson, etal. The given names of the children ars: Elizabeth*, Thankful, Hannah*, Samuel*, Joshua*, Rachel*. Hannah died at the age of 15, Rowland, and Joshua. The children marked with an asterisk "died probably" during the smallpox epidemic of 1775. Graves are all noted except RACHEL ELLIS.
