Hello Peter, I think you will find that researching in Berkshire County, is a most rewarding experience. There are many resources and not the least of which is the Berkshire Anatheum at the Berkshire Library. The Berkshire Family History Association, works closely with all resources and membership is minimul ($12 annually). They have given me many, many hours of their time and I have been able to advance my research much farther, then I ever hoped to expect. Here is the URL, after you read it, go to the bottom and click on BFHA, for more details. Good Luck, Margaret in NV PS, I have been having some difficulty transmitting URL's, so if it doesn't come through, email me privately and I will be happy to send it directly to you. I wrote to them several years ago and they couldn't help me. they had nothing on either of my names: Hewitt or Huggins. I, also, need a literal courthouse search but have been unable to find anyone in the southern district that does that. but hope spring eternal with me, someday... Anyone recognize this man who was at Sandisfield in the 1790 census? Seeing if he is father or brother to Brazilla Havens who is in Berkshire by the 1800 census. Brazilla Havens supposed to be from Rhode Island. Dan
