I have a copy of a letter from Hiram Burlingham to his wife dated June 22, 1863, from Port Hudson, Louisiana. Names mentioned in the letter are: Frederick Belcher, Garrett Fitzgerald, Charles R. Fuller, John M. Gamwell, Henry E. Grippen, George Wood, Ike (probably Issac Nourse), John Stevens. These were all soldiers in the 49th Regiment, Company B, from Lanesborough.
