    3. Tyringham MA is one of the main areas where my ancestors would be found. Do you have any info for Markham, Heath, Race and/or Johns? 3. I am searching for a Thomas family from Tyringham, MA. Ephraim Thomas born 1759. He had a brother Eliphalet born close to that time However, this is not the family from Plymouth. This is another branch, probably from Connecticut. 3. Cissi: These are peripheral marriages into my main family lines so I do not have a lot of information on these Heaths and Markhams. There is a published and available Dowd/Doude/Doud genealogy from which I got this sketchy info. I do have lots of Race/Rees informaion - just let me know which specific Race/Reeses you are interested in. Also I am looking for an Andrew Race b. 1770 so if you happen to have anything on this old Andrew, I would be greatly interested. Sylvester Dowd b. 1803 in Tyringham m. Thetesa Heath b. Tyringham. (Thetesa also m. Hyland Dowd.) Sylvester and Thetesa had: Harriet L. b. Tyringham 1834 m. Loomis Jones in 1851 Wilbur S. Dowd b. Tyringham 1838 m. Sarah J. Heath Wilbur S. Dowd b. 1838 in Tyringham, son of Sylvester Dowd and Thetesa Heath m. in 1860 - Sarah J. Heath George Washington Race b. Hampton, NY 1812 (these Races had very strong MT Washington, Egremont and Great Barrington connections) m. Clarissa Barron before 1844 and had Lydia Jane, and Caroline Race. Caroline Race m. James Norton Heath and Albert Cook. With Albert Cook, Caroline had: Hattie Cook (no birth date d. 1922 in Granville, NY) who m. George Heath who died about 1900 in Cabot, VT. Hattie and George Heath had: Halsey M. Heath b. July 5, 1891 Lena A. Heath b. March 1, 1892 m. Dwight E. Perry Hattie Race (no dates, no locations) m. ? Heath Noah Dowd b. 1766 in Monterey, MA (formerly part of Tyringham) m. in 1786 in Monterey, Mehitable Markham (no dates) and had: Noah, Jr. 1788 Mehitabel 1790 Selah 1792 Cornelius 1795 Adoniram 1798 Anna b.1800 m. Elisha Markham in 1836 in Tyringham Amos no date Rachel Lavinia Dowd b. 1811 Tyringham m. Ira Markham Hope this helps. 3. Hi, If you are looking for information on Tyringham from a more historical point of view, there are two books available in Tyringham: Tyringham - a hinterland settlement by Eloise Myers Views of the Valley - Tyringham 1739-1989 The second is more a "picture book" but both give you a good perspective on a town that just too many of our ancestors seem to have passed through. I am researching the Stedman family and there are many branches of that family that have passed through Tyringham. The Stedmans also inter-married several times with the Heath family. Someone wrote recently about the split of Monterey from Tyringham. That happened about 1850 so any references to Monterey before 1850 should really be Tyringham. john.
