Looking for a Webster family that was in Sheffield, Berkshire County, Mass around 1771-1778. I have a Elizabeth (Eliz) Webster b.1771/8 Sheffield Berkshire Co., Mass.d.1849 Frankstown, Blair, PA; married 1797 to Oliver Westover Jr. b.1775 Sheffield, Berkshire County, Mass d.9/1855 PA She is said to be a direct descendent of Gov. John Webster the 5th Gov. of CT. A desendent of Gov. John Webster, Daniel Webster (1730CT-1813NY) is in Sheffield prior to this but has relocated to NY by the time period of Elizabeth's birth. He has 2 sons Daniel (1758) & Isaac Vosburg Webster (1759) who are born early enough to have fathered Elizabeth but record of their marriages come after her birth period. I am not sure either of them stayed in Sheffield either. On the 1790 census there are no Webster's listed in Sheffield Township. There are a few listed in Teringham, Sandisfield, and Nethlehem Townships of Berkshire COunty, Mass. I live in Georgia and do not have access to any Mass or Berkshire County Records. Help is a must.
