    2. This is a Message Board Post that is gatewayed to this mailing list. Surnames: Jones Rogers Haywood Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/an/UFB.2ACI/3184.1.1 Message Board Post: Hi Donald.....I posted this reply to you on Oct. 16 on genforum and also sent it as an email to you on Oct. 31. Leslie Thank you for responding. In 2001, when I posted the Joseph & Salome message, I was searching for possible parents of my gggrandmother, Mary M. Rogers, born 1832 in Berkshire County MA, who married Charles A. Jones in 1850 (still looking for his parents too!) and lived in Stockbridge, Berkshire, MA. Town records listed her as the daughter of "Salmon". Given the probability of transcription error I started searching for anything that sounded like Salmon and ended up with the reference to Joseph and Salome. I have since discovered a Salmon Rogers/Rodgers who lived in Pittsfield MA per 1830 census, Adams MA per 1850 census and Lee MA per 1860 census. He was born 1802 in MA per census records, but have never been able to find a birth, marriage or death record for him. His wife was named Eliza or Eunice (married twice?) but I've never been able to discover a marriage record or a maiden name. I have managed to trace his two sons, Theodore and Orrin, down two more generations, in hopes of finding a descendant with some info but have had no luck as yet. It's frustrating! At any rate...I'm fairly sure that Joseph and Salome (Crane) Rogers are not part of my line, unless Joseph could be a brother to my Salmon. I would still like to hear about their children. Sometimes there can be a given name that is used over and over in family groups which can give one a clue. You never know! Thanks, Leslie
