    3. Hello Rene: There is quite a lot info on the Curtis name from Dalton: Elijah B1737 was an ancestor of mine too. He married Elizabeth Sparhawk @ Sutton Ma 1760 in Oct. They had 9 children. (Elizabeth B 1742 d 7-11-1808) ..... Elijah had come to Dalton 1783 with two brothers.His son John Curtis B 1773 d 7-3-1852 married Patty Newell B 1776 D 1861 she was from Dalton. (John was born in Oxford Ma and lived in Dalton 79 yrs. Another son Elijah jr b 1773 d 8-21-1810 married Annie Stockwell. from the Dalton Gazeeteer (1725-1885) " Elijah Curtis" .... from Worchester County... came to Dalton 1794 and was the first to live on a farm on road 7. married Annie Stockwell and had 10 children. One was Chloe who married John Benton.. moved to Cleveland Ohio. The youngest son Elijah married Harriet Roggs of Sharon Conn. -3 children... Maria H , Marshall C m/ Ann Gibbs of Otis -3 children. Elijah (B 1737) also had dauhter Hanna Curtis b 1772- d 10-21-1799 @ 27 yrs. She married Seth Walker of Ohio. John Curtis b 1773 m/ Martha Patty Newell... their first son John Curtis jr (Dalton) b 1804-d 9-22-1885 had 3 wives. The first wife was Mary Smith Curtis b 1809- d 3-18-1844. There was a daughter : Mary Curtis Printiss ... who married my great- great- grandfather Charles H Printiss of Pittsfield. ......... theres much more .. do you happen to have anything on the Printiss name? Charles father was Erastus Printis also of Pittsfield b about 1790 d 1834. It is thought he had been in Lafayette NY and could have come from there. Good luck with your search... Also in Dalton there is Curtis Ave, off of Main Street . pg 102 same book: the prize for "Most Traveled House in Dalton' would probably go to the Elijah Curtis house which has finally come to rest at 411 High Street. Originally located near Daltons main road, the house was moved to the present Pine Grove Park when a boarding house for mill girls was built on this site and later moved to its present loaction some time after 1858". pg 111: Wrote Chloe Curtis Woodworth in an 1884 issue of the Berkshire Eagle of a recent fire ....".
