Married Elizabeth Sparhawk on Oct. 21, 1760 in Sutton, Mass. The marriage is also recorded in Oxford, Mass. town records. Samuel Curtis, b. May 31, 1698 in Topsfield, Essex Co., Mass., son of John Curtis & Mary Looke. He married Hannah Dodge on June 15, 1720 in Beverly, Essex Co., Mass. She was born on April 17, 1692 in Beverly, Mass., the daughter of Edward Dodge & Mary Haskell. Samuel Curtis died Feb. 23, 1733 in Sutton, Mass. His widow, Hannah, died Aug. 29, 1782 in Sutton, Mass. at the age of 82. John Curtis, b. about 1649, supposedly in Topsfield, though the Topsfield records don't list his birth. Son of Zacheus Curtis & Johanna Cooper. He married on Dec. 4, 1672 in Topsfield, Essex Co., Mass. to Mary Looke. She was born July 15, 1654 in Lynn, Essex Co., Mass., the daughter of Thomas Look & Sarah Miller. John Curtis died April 16, 1718 in Topsfield, Mass. His widow, Mary, died Aug. 23, 1745 in Topsfield "in her 92nd year". Zacheus Curtis, b. about 1619 in Downton, Wiltshire, England, the son of Zacheus Curtis & Mary --. Came to America on the ship "James" on April 5, 1635. Settled first at Salem. Married 1st 1635 to Grace Corwithen. Married 2nd about 1645 to Johanna Cooper in Topsfield. Zacheus Curtis died Nov. 17, 1683 in Topsfield, Mass. His widow Johanna died 1707. Sources were the vital records of the towns referred to and "Pioneers of Massachusetts" by Charles Henry Pope.
