My ancestory goes thru Elijah (b 1737) m/ Elizabeth Sparhawk : .... to his son John Curtis (b 1773) m/ Martha Patty Newell: .... to their son John Curtis Jr (b 1804) m/ Mary Smith Curtis: ... they had a daughter Mary Curtis Printiss who married my G-G Grandfather Charles H Printiss of Pittsfield. There is another note on this ancestry chain: It is Gideon Colton (b1727,d 1783) married D. Purchase (b1737). They were married 1763 in Springfield Ma. They had a son : Amos Smith (b1758, d 1814) married Mary Coltan Smith. They were married 5 May 1802 Cummington Ma. Their daughter Mary Smith(b1809,d 1844) married John Curtis Jr (who I mentioned above).... Abner was married to Persis Howe Salter-Curtis (sometimes with two "s's". And I do know that their son Dr. Elijah Curtis is my 3x Great Grandfather and down I know and I have documentation along with living family members to verify and confirm quite a bit. It is Abner, his parents and so on that I am having the most difficulty with. I recently found that Abner's granfather is most likely Elijah Curtis -wife Elisabeth Sparhawk- married 21 Oct 1760 Sutton, County of Worchester. And his father was (most likely)-Elijah Curtis, Jr. b 1763 dod 9/21/1810 Dalton, MA married Anna Stockwell 2/21/1782 Auburn, MA - I believe my Abner was born about 1833 - his 2nd wife was Joanna Howland (just found) and they had one daughter Fidelia Howland Curtis that married a Haley. Abner (father of Dr. Elijah Curtis b 1812 (3x G-Grandfather) had several children one being a Joel Curtis...believe he had a brother named Joel as well.
