Mrs Mandelville although a native of Canada had lived here for the past twenty-one years, during which time she made alot of friends. She was a member of several religious and charitable organizations and she will be missed. She was 63 years old and is survived by one daughter and seven sons. Services will be held tomorrow morning at Noter Dame Church at 10 am. The body will then be taken to Spenser for burial. December 4, 1911 Obituary Norbert Mandeville, and old and well-known resident of this city died at the home of his son, 275 River St in his 81st year. HE had been feeble for some time, but had been confined to his bed since Monday Night. Mr Mandeville was born in Canada but had lived in this city more than forty years. He was a baker and formerly did business on Holden St. Later he located on State St where he conducted a bakery gracery store until four or five years ago. Since that time he had made his home with his son on River St. Before coming to North Adams he had lived a number of years in Spencer. Mr Mandeville leaves one daughter, Mrs Edward Amelotte of Worcester and five sons, Norbert of Brockton, Edward of Bridgeport,John B of Boston, Charles of Holyoke and Henry Mandeville of this city. I wonder if his father, Reuben Bills (my 3xg-grandfather), born in MA is brother or cousin to your John Henry since he named his son the same. They seem to have traveled very similar paths to the west. Reuben and his family lived in Alden, Erie Co, IL in 1840. There is a John Alonzo in Decatur Co, IL, the same time (1860) that Reuben and his sons (including John Henry) lived there. Born in County Limerick, Ireland,Mr Mulqueen came to this city more then 50 years ago and has since resided here. For many years he was employed as a watchman for the Strong-Hewat mill in Briggsville but retired a few years ago. He was widely known in this section and was highly esteemed by all who knew him. He was a member of St Francis Church and the was formerly a member of the AOH. Mr Mulqueen is survived by three daughters, Misses Helen, Catherine,and Mrs Leon Alderman of this city,two sisters Miss Anna Mulqueen and Mrs Helen mcKennedy of Pittsfield, three brothers including Patrick Mulqueen of Pittfield, the others living in Ireland.
