    1. [MABERKSH] New Marlborough Cemeteries
    2. I am interested in finding burial sites for a Samuel Hitchcock (d. 1801 in Sheffield) and either of his two wives, Sarah Sears Hitchcock (prob. died about 1771) and Betsey Sears Hitchcock (prob died on or after 1803). Even though Samuel and Betsey lived in Sheffield, there are no grave sites for them there. They used to live in New Marlborough so I am thinking maybe they are buried there. The Sears were in Middletown (East Hampton) for years and that is also a possibility. Is there anyone who knows the cemeteries in these areas? In New Marlborough, the oldest cemeteries are: Huxley, Mill River (maybe), Old Mill River, and New Marlborough - from what I could find. In Middletown, in particular, the East Hampton area, is there someone who knows the cemeteries or could search them for me? Are there complete transcriptions any place for these cemeteries? Thank you. 1. [MABERKSH] Kittredge, DALTON MA MARRIAGES
    2. Frederick Printiss
    3. There are several mentions of the name Kittredge in the Pittsfield genealogy. One appears in my lineage:              The last living "DAR" lived in Pittsfield, her name was Eliza Ann (Wilber) Prentiss, the wife of Horace Prentiss of Pittsfield/Dalton. Eliza Ann's mother's maiden name was Elizabeth Kittredge, the second wife of Joseph Wilber who was from Ancram New York. Elizabeth Kittredge married Joseph Wilber in 1823 in Chatham New York. He was 72 years old, and they proceeded to have six children. This amazing story includes the fact that Joe Wilber (born 23 Dec 1751 was a Sargent in the American Revolution and fought alongside George Washington. (all information supported by Gov. papers, DAR information, and newsprint.).            The father of Elizabeth Kittredge,(grandfather of Eliza Ann) was George Kittredge, who served in the Colonial War. He was made prisoner of the Indians, (allies of the French Troops) and was in captivity for fourteen years! He was carried into the wilds of Canada, where because of his knowledge of Herb medicines, he was made a "medicine man" and revered by the tribe. His long captivity made him very melancholy. One summer day an Indian girl found him sadly morning his fate. The squaw aided his escape. Returning home he found his wife spinning at her wheel and his son of fourteen years a strapping lad, the sole care for his mother.                   A nice story.... I think he was in Rowe, MA. I visited a cemetery on the mountain in back of Yankee Atomic that was Thomas & Renewed Wilcox. The Lion's Park is booked to have the reunion on July 12. We have to meet soon. I have been intensely busy with the planning etc. of a national reunion that is being held at the end of this month. Do you know the name of Beulah Wilcox's mother? Yes, I am the Carol of the reunion committee. My email address is canangel5@hotmail.com. It was probably my mother that Earlene talked to. She was the grandchild of Thomas Wilcox. Dad unknown so she may have been illegimate. I think perhaps Earline Lavanway asked you somethings when we were searching for Blanchard/Wilcox as she said she asked some one related to Hubbard Oaks, husband of L. Blanchard. When is the reunion this year? Two years ago I had some medical questions and their cures that some folks did a the reunion. My husband helped Sandy's husband get things in and out out of the kitchen. Are you Carol on the committee? I tried to ask her when the reunion is but her e-mail has changed! We have lots to talk about as your Blanchard was the child sibling just ahead of my Emerson. My grandma was Ada Blanchard Harvey who lived on South Hill.
