The GenWeb sit also lists Pettibone and Talcott cemeteries. All of Center is not in there. I have Williams buried there that are not listed. I have a book History of Lanesborough that has some of the names at the end of the alphabet. I also have relatives at North Cemetery that is not listed. What name are you looking for? First: Please notice that, I think, an accent mark did not work on the email. Clément We need his first name again without the accent mark. Was it Clement? Were Clement? and his wife Justine ever in the USA as well as Charles? Second: Do you know he was in the Berkshire, Massachusetts area, of the USA or are you just sending this information to every list in the USA? My some of my maternal family came from North Adams so I saved this email information from someone else. The information was from 2006 so the contact name could be different. Gwenda "If you contact the North Adams Public Library (http://www.naplibrary.com (413)662-3133) and speak to Kacy Westwood, she can assist you further. They have looked up a ton of obits for me which have proven to be invaluable in my research. They will charge you a fee for the time spent looking but since you already know the date, it should be a nominal fee. Typically they are able to look items up in the Berkshire Eagle and North Adams Transcript- but they may have other newspapers. I hope that helps! At that time there was also a "Return of Death" form. That included the place of burial, undertaker, informant, doctor's signature. Try contacting the Adams Town Clerk. With luck, they'll have the death certificate with the information you need. The contact info is: Paul Hutchinson, Town Clerk Address: First Floor, Town Hall 8 Park Street Adams, MA 01220 Phone: (413) 743-8320 Fax: (413) 743-8316 Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hey everyone. I ran across this and thought I would pass it along in case anyone was interested. The 1890 Civil War census for Berkshire county is available on CDrom. Here is where I found it, if you wanted to check it out. Just go there and search for the county that you want! http://stores.shop.ebay.com/Ohio-Family-Roots I hope this helps someone! Gary

One of the things we did for activities as campers was maintain the place, clean out the stream, etc. I was younger over all when I went to camp, but one of my favorite spots was "blueberry meadow" up a small knoll beyond the horse barns. It was likely not as big as I remember, but I don't think I've every been anywhere with such an endless amount of blueberries to pick. And then we made jam. Miss Ryder and Miss Logan also knew all the areas around camp and at least three days a week we took hikes to various areas around the camp. It breaks my heart to think of how it has been abandoned. But I am thrilled that it is part of the state park system and will not be developed. Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Miss Logan and Miss Ryder took such good care of that place--it sparkled. We used to eat, all 35 of us plus counselors, in the dining room -- four tables. I suppose the ground floor was all dining room and an institutional type kitchen by the time I was there in the 1960's but I was a kid and a camper and did not look much beyond my nose! I can tell you that the out buildings were also well taken care of. Jack (if you give me a week or so, I will probably remember his surname) was a local carpenter who took care of everything. Do you know who bought the farm from the professors? I remember it being for sale....my parents were a bit tempted but I remember my father saying he didn't want to buy land with buildings that he would have to maintain. Was it sold to the Latter Day Saints for a camp immediately, or did it go to someone else in between? I wondered if it went back to being a farm, since it looked like that when I was there in the late seventies. Did your grandparents name it Windigo? I recognize the name Decelle and so I suppose that the camp directors told us that it was the Decelle farm. Was it your family's farm before them? Did the your ancestors build the farmhouse? I confess that every few years I would have dreams, or really nightmares that I went up there and there were condos. Such a beautiful spot. The last time I was there, probably in the late 70's or very early 80's, was during the fall foliage and it was breathtaking. As a child, I did not appreciate the physical beauty of the place, although I surely loved it. srz Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list.
