I will look for it the next time I head in to Boston - either at NEHGS or the Mass Archives - it may be a couple of weeks. Max

Lew Thanks for the link to the Greenfield Recorder. Bob Waryjasz lived in the house that my G-Grandfather was born in and we would buy potatoes from them. Sorry to learn that he died. Again thanks Nancy

I'd be very interested to know more about the family - if they are part of Sheldon's family tree - and particulars regarding lineage in Ireland, living relatives, and so on. We know JJ Flynn as Joseph or Joe, but his first name is listed as John. He may have been a judge in Lowell, MA during the early part of the last century. Cordially Ellen
1. Are vital records for Egremont in the early 1800's available? Apparently, they are not included in the NEHGS database. 2. Does anyone know if the migration of families from the Egremont/Alford/Hillsdale area to Otsego County in New York in the early 1800's has been documented or mapped? I'm aware of OLDS, KELSEY, OSBORN(E), DEWEY and don't know how many more. I've tried to track the following folks who lived in Otsego County from 1830 back to the Berkshire area without a lot of success so far: * Stephen Olds (born about 1800) * Louisa Kelsey (born about 1808), Stephen's wife * Daniel Kelsey (born about 1802), could be Louisa's brother * Olive Olds (born about 1806), Daniel's wife, could be Stephen's sister Any scrap of information would be useful. Thanks, Max Ward

My grandmother, Mary Rogers Drake (Dingman, Ross) was born in 1895. She often told me that her family either contained the name Rogers or were related by marriage somehow. She said that they always tried to include the name Rogers in naming new babies. Her middle name was Rogers, she named my father Roger. Her mother's name was Alice Mae or May Warner (Drake). Any thoughts on that? Sherry Braun in Tallahassee

Leslie Thank you for responding. In 2001, when I posted the Joseph & Salome message, I was searching for possible parents of my gggrandmother, Mary M. Rogers, born 1832 in Berkshire County MA, who married Charles A. Jones in 1850 (still looking for his parents too!) and lived in Stockbridge, Berkshire, MA. Town records listed her as the daughter of "Salmon". Given the probability of transcription error I started searching for anything that sounded like Salmon and ended up with the reference to Joseph and Salome. I have since discovered a Salmon Rogers/Rodgers who lived in Pittsfield MA per 1830 census, Adams MA per 1850 census and Lee MA per 1860 census. He was born 1802 in MA per census records, but have never been able to find a birth, marriage or death record for him. His wife was named Eliza or Eunice (married twice?) but I've never been able to discover a marriage record or a maiden name. I have managed to trace his two sons, Theodore and Orrin, down two more generations, in hopes of finding a descendant with some info but have had no luck as yet. It's frustrating! At any rate...I'm fairly sure that Joseph and Salome (Crane) Rogers are not part of my line, unless Joseph could be a brother to my Salmon. I would still like to hear about their children. Sometimes there can be a given name that is used over and over in family groups which can give one a clue. You never know! Thanks, Leslie
