MOORE, a long-time resident of Redlands and Mentone, passed away peacefully at her home on Thursday, January 27, 2005, from complications of ALS (Lou Gehrig’s Disease). She was 57. Born in Osterville, MA, she grew up on Cape Cod. She initially worked as a bank teller on Cape Cod before deciding to enter the dental field. Janet completed the Dental Assisting Program at Northeastern University and received certification as a Registered Dental Assistant. She initially worked as a Dental Assistant on Cape Cod, moving to the Redlands area in 1985. Janet initially taught dental assisting and then was the Dental Assistant for Dr. Paul Richardson in Yucaipa, CA. In 1998 she followed Dr. Richardson to the Loma Linda University School of Dentistry, where Dr. Richardson had been appointed Associate Dean. Janet ran the school’s Dental Recall Program and served as Dr. Richardson’s Dental Assistant at the University. An extremely active member of Redlands United Methodist Church, she met her future husband, David Moore, at the church, and they were married in April 1999. Janet served on the United Methodist Women District Council and was the coordinator of the Women’s Book Program. With her husband, she co-chaired the church’s Membership Outreach Committee. Survivors include her husband, David S. Moore, of Redlands; her parents, Paul and Esther Williams, of Osterville, MA; her brother, Ted Williams of Osterville, MA; her sister, Karen Honey of North Las Vegas, NV; and her stepchildren James Moore of Newport Beach, CA and Julie Moore of San Jose, CA. A memorial Service to celebrate Janet’s life will be held at the Redlands United Methodist Church, One East Olive Street in Redlands, at 2:00 PM Wednesday, February 2, 2005, with 4reception to follow. Memorial Donations in Janet’s name may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Redlands, One East Olive Street, Redlands, CA 92373; Redlands Community Hospital Hospice, P. O.
