Owen, who was living in New York when my g-g-g-grandfather, Charles C, Owen, was born, ABT 1807. I do not know when (?) Owen himself was born, or where, but I have traced our ancestors back to Wales, and our Owen Immigrants were WIlliam, Richard, David and John Owen, who arrived in and around MA and VA in the early-to-mid 1600s. I am searching for the parents (names unknown) of Charles C. Owen, b.1807 in New York, d. UKN, in Lapeer Co., MI. I estimate that Charles’ father (the focus of our search) was living in (Orange or Essex Co?) New York, between 1800 and at least 1810. I do not know where he was born, or if he also relocated to Michigan. Charles C. Owen was my g-g-g-grandfather, and married Elizabeth Clark, m. UKN. They had several children, and I believe they were all born in Michigan. According to the 1850 and 1860 U.S. Federal Census records in Lapeer County, there were 9 or 10 children, including Julia, b.1841, Clark, b.1842, and Henry, b. ABT 1844, among others; possibly an older girl, Mary, and several younger children. Henry Owen was my g-g grandfather, and the father of Carroll Clark Owen, b.1885, in MI, d. UKN. Carroll was my g-grandfather, and married Lela G. Davis, m. UKN. Carroll had a brother named Fred, and other siblings. Carroll Owen was the father of Marion Clark Owen, b.1909, Lapeer Co., MI, d.1984, Lapeer Co., MI. Marion was my grandfather. I am aware of other siblings, but I don’t have all their names. I believe he had a brother named Max. Marion Owen married Malinda E. Ryan, b.1911, Lapeer Co., MI, d.1 Feb 2001, Lapeer Co., MI. Malinda Ryan-Owen was the daughter of John H. Ryan, b.ABT 1867, and Carrie Moore, b.ABT 1871. Carrie's parents were Oscar Moore and Malinda (Melinda?) Shurter. Oscar's father was SIlas Moore, b.UKN. John H. Ryan was a son of an Irish Immigrant, Thomas Ryan, b. ABT 1835, and Ellen Halpin, a daughter of Mark Halpin, b. ABT 1808, IRE (?). Mark also had a son named John Halpin, b.(?) West Point, Orange Co., N.Y. Thomas Ryan had brothers named Patrick and Andrew, all born in IRE. Their father was Thomas Ryan, b. ABT 1808 in IRE. I do not know when the 3 brothers arrived in the U.S., who their mother was, or if their parents also left Ireland. The above referenced families lived in Lapeer Co., Michigan, and the Owen and the Ryan families were land-owners in Lapeer County during the 1800s-1900s. If anyone has any information on these families, particularly on the parents of Charles C. Owen, b. 1807, N.Y., d. (?), Lapeer Co., MI, I would greatly appreciate hearing from you!!
