Alice DeGross (of French descent per her son's biography), daughter of Jabez DeGross and Dorothy Ellis, b. 8 Apr 1767, Wellfleet, MA, m. Daniel Hill, Revolutionary War veteran of Natick, MA on 28 Jul 1785 at Greenwich. MA. They emigrated to Otsego Co. NY then Fenner, Madison Co. NY. He d. 22 Jan 1834 and is buried in Old Peterboro cemetery. Tombstone still there, with a flag on it. She d. 24 Apr 1843 at Smithfield, Madison, NY. Tombstone not yet found. He filed for and was granted a pension. Might he have been granted bounty land in New York, thus the move? Her father Jabez then followed?
