    3. Betty, The feature you are asking about is one that is identical in the two versions, so has not changed. It was and still is up to the List Admin to set it one of the following two ways: 1. Require all replies to list posts to go to the list. 2. Give the person replying the option of sending a reply to the sender ("reply") or to the list ("reply all"). In both cases the exact name may vary on different software, but will be very similar to that mentioned. If you subscribe to a list that requires replies to go to the list, then it is set that way by the List Admin, and that Admin is not me because none of my lists are set that way because I prefer giving the option to the subscriber. Admittedly, for a period of time this list was set to require replies to the list because when it was first migrated, that was the default setting. Once I discovered that fact I changed it, and you will have the option from now on. I really strongly encourage folks to reply ON THE LIST to any list post sent that way, because you never know what detail or fragment of information might spark an interest in someone else and potentially lead to new information for both of you. That is part of the beauty of the mailing lists, you just never know what might come through your inbox that might help you. I hope this answers your question. I am putting this on the list to help others who might have the same question, but I apologize for the length. Hi David, snip> But, I only have time for one comment this morning ! One of the complaints for the new Mailman format is that it is no longer "clear" --- how we "respond to List." Do we still have the choice? Respond to sender vs. respond to List ? Betty (near Lowell, MA)
