Howe's death record in the Provincetown records of 1864. There should be an image of the page with such details as were recorded, but either he's there, but I can't find him on the page that comes up, or once again the page is not linked correctly. The page number on the image that comes up is not readable, so I can't be sure if this is the correct page, but the index says the record is in volume 174, page 16. The books are at the Massachusetts archives and they record reports sent in by the town clerks. Probably you could contact the Provincetown clerk and get the record more quickly than from the MA archives at a somewhat higher cost.
