Is there a list of the 50 families from the Cape Cod area that went & formed/settled Barrington, Novia Scotia in 1765? I have a dead end with a John HOUSE(HOWES?) born @ August 6, 1747. He married Lydia DAGGETT from Edgartown and then died in Nantucket August 1816. The Barney papers just say he was "Of New Foundland". When my research found the "50 families", I was curious if he could have been originally from this area. Thanks, Michelle

The earliest vital records of Barrington were published in MD in 1906 and 1907. The first installment contains a list of proprietors and there is no House/Howes on that list. The index shows no entry for a John House/Howes in those records. Dale H. Cook; Member, NEHGS and MA Society of Mayflower Descendants; Plymouth Co.
