Hi, I'm new to the list and am hoping someone can help. My great great grandfather was Charles Wellington DIMMOCK, b: 25 Mar 1818 in or near Barnstable, d: 9 Jul 1868 in Edwardsville, IL. I can't find his parents. He worked with his uncle, Elijah Lewis DIMMOCK in a shoe store in Alton, IL for several years. Elijah b: 15 Sept 1802, Barnstable, d: 4 Jan 1887 in Alton, IL. Elijah was a son of Charles DIMMOCK and Deborah LEWIS (or possibly DAVIS). I'm assuming, since Elijah was C.W.'s uncle, one of Elijah's siblings was C.W.'s father. One candidate is John DIMMOCK, but I've found nothing much about him, either. If anyone has any information that can shed light on this family, I'd be much obliged! Thanks! Judy Meredith
