It says the house is circa 1800-1830 however local experts say it might be slightly older than that. It was originally built on Long Point which is the absolute end of Cape Cod and across the harbor from Provincetown itself. This was a settlement of about 60 houses/windmills/cod and salt drying operations. The house was located in the middle of Long Point and the store on the water. Sometime after 1850 the house and store were literally floated across the harbor and then installed on Nickerson Street in Provincetown's west end. I have no idea what type of store but likely something to do with supplying the Long Point settlement. Any info is greatly appreciated.
