The Adams Genealogies (1898 and 1987) both give this date. In Henry E. Scott Jr.'s book, _The Adams Family of Martha's Vineyard_, (pub.1987 by Mercury Publishing, Rutland VT, in cooperation with the NEHGS,) says, pp. 1-2, (all of the following I quote verbatim, the bracketed remarks are the author's): Eliashib Adams met Experience Mayhew's daughter Reliance (Experience's first child, born 1696), and married her 15 Feb 1728-29 when she was thirty-three years old. At this time Experience sold his son-in-law the parcel of land on which Eliashib had built his house. The deed (Book 5, p. 154 in Dukes County registry, dated Dec. 19, 1729) states that "I, Experience Mayhew ... for 70 pounds in Good and Lawful Money of New England ... give ... unto Eliashib Adams, his heirs ... a Certain Tract or Parcell of Land Situate ... in the Town of Chilmark ... where ye said Adams New Dwelling House Standeth and Butted and Bounded as followeth..." It included "a meadow and the SW part of a littlie island in ye Pond (Chilmark or Black Point) at a Place called Quansoo (at the western end of Tisbury Great Pond) ... which leads to the beach". The parcel was very close to the Tisbury-Chilmark boundary as it was located at that time. Experience's house was hardly a mile away a Quenames. Experience must have realized that Reliance was nearly ready to give birth to her first baby, her only child, born three days later, on 22 December 1729. They named him Mayhew Adams. But Reliance, being over 30 years old, did not survive the ordeal. She died seventeen days later. There is much more in the book, but no specific citation to the marriage date. Hope this helps some.
