Hello Searching for relatives of Albert Lincoln and Mabel Louise Crowell Clarke. They had daughters and one was married to a Jones. A year or so ago there was an Obituary in the Cape Cod Times. I would like so much to find this part of my family. Albert was my half great grand uncle. Rich Clarke

Looking for anyone who may have a copy of this paper the date is Sept. 12th, 1907 I believe it is a weekly paper? It has the 50th anniversary of Sarah Etta Bray and George Wilson Ryder in this edition it states that the editor had found the connection to the presidency of Sarah’s great grandfather John Custis of VA, who married Hannah Hawes of Yarmouth, Barnstable MA on May 03, 1792 her parents are James and Rebecca Russell Hawes. It states he could not put the information in that edition. My copy of the one page is a very poor copy with many smudges. Smudged is also George’s connection to the G.A.R. The editor hopefully did a later account to his findings on the Custis line of VA. Maybe people who have Custis connections to any of the Custis line in Yarmouth may hold the key to this information. The transcriber in Yarmouth changed John’s last name by 1 letter when he married Hannah to and “R” yet his bans, death and grave in the ancient Yarmouth cemetery state his true name “Custis” not (Curtis) as does all the Custis line who are buried there. For all the people who can not find Deborah Custis parents who married November 07, 1844 in Yarmouth to Captain Henry Bray just look for Henry Custis who married Sally Young January 16, 1817 in Barnstable and you’ll have her parents. The only article that is clear is the one that states George and Sarah’s first born Wilson was the first birth ever listed in their paper. You’ll also find John Custis again not (Curtis) had a brother Thomas who also married a Hannah Hawes September 19, 1805 Yarmouth and her parents Ebenezer and Temperance Taylor Hawes. Deborah’s sister Louisa Custis who married Nathan T. Hallett hopefully someone has this information on our Custis lines. Any help on these articles would be most appreciated thank you Wanda of ME -- No virus found in this outgoing message. Checked by AVG Free Edition. Anglia, England). I appreciated your tree including his son John, then Abigail then John who married Jerusha. Do you know the name of any of John and Jerusha's sons? I know they had a daughter Lydia. My father was James Edward Hamblin, and his father was Byron Foote Hamblin, and his father was Levi Hamblin. I just don't know how Levi and John connect. Also do you have any birth and death dates for the Hamblins? I know James arrived in Barnstable,Mass in 1639 and that Levi lived in the mid 1800's. Hi Jackie, Always glad to meet another cousin! The Hamblins are a prolific lot. As a matter of fact, I have a friend and distant cousin here in Pennsylvania named John Hamblin, and it turns out we grew up a mile apart in good old Rhode island. Most of my Hamblin research comes from Amos Otis" "Genealogical Notes of Barnstable Families", a wonderful book although not infallible. I see you have James as the son of Giles. This is news to me, although Otis mentions a Giles, a ship captain who is assumed to be the brother of James, so it sounds logical. Can you give me your source? Otis says that John and Jerusha had a son John in 1743, before they had daughter Lydia, and"probably others." Also there is no mention of a Levi Hamblin in the index, so I can't help you here. Do you know where your Levi was born, and when? Charles I Bearse Morrisville PA To Be Remembered May Be The Secret To Immortality

The sampler was found in Meriden Connecticut by my father in the early 1980s when he was cleaning out his paint and picture framing store. It was tucked in a corner in the attic. I'm on a mission to find out information on this person for him. I've also posted this on the Hurlbut and Gast surname boards. Anyone with perhaps any information, please post! Thank you.

Cemetery records in Cincinnati, OH for a cemetery lot owned by Samuel and Henry LEWIS show the birthplace of both Samuel Lewis Sr (1771-1842) and Samuel LEWIS Jr (1799-1854) to be Falmouth, MA. The birthplace for Henry LEWIS (1805-1859) is not recorded. I am trying to determine if there is any link between Samuel Lewis and Thomas L. LEWIS (1809-1875), a music teacher, birthplace unknown, who died in Lockport, NY. Also, I am trying to establish what the connection to Salmon P. Chase was. Sarah Bella Dunlop Ludlow, 3rd wife of Salmon P. Chase, was initially interred in the Samuel and Henry LEWIS lot and then removed to a lot purchased later by Salmon P. Chase. Ed HERRON
